Graduate Research Assistant
Graduate Research Assistant – Computational Human Genomics. Multiple graduate research assistant (GRA) positions in computation human genomics are open for application. The projects available to the GRAs include (i) developing and extending bioinformatics tools for functional annotations of DNA variants (SNV, indel, CNV), (ii) developing bioinformatics tools to utilize the annotation tools developed in my lab (dbNSFP, WGSA, etc.) to prioritize variants and genes that causes Mendelian diseases, (iii) using machine learning methods to predict the deleteriousness of novel DNA variants, (iv) utilizing functional annotations to increase power of genotype-phenotype association analyses, and (v) human population genomics analyses. Preferred candidates for the GRA positions shall have training in genetics, show strong quantitative or computational capability, and have strong interest in human genetics research. Previous methodology development and/or Java programming experience is preferred. Contact: Xiaoming Liu ([email protected]).
